Addressing the Complexity of Needs of Older Adults: Best Practices for Accessing Community Resources

About the Program:
Darcie Miller, LCSW-R, Commissioner of Social Services and Mental Health will present on addressing the complexity of needs of older adults and best practices for accessing community resources. The presentation will provide an overview of the prevalence of behavioral health needs in older adults as well as the impact of adverse childhood experiences on long term health and behavioral health outcomes. Participants will learn the about how Orange County’s WELCOME Orange Continuous Comprehensive Integrated System of Care model provides a framework for welcoming older adults into a behavioral health system they may not have experienced before. Participants will learn best practices for outreach, engagement and connection to community resources for older adults.
